Memo from Pilots
My first time visiting an American family was in Grandpa Bruce’s son’s ranch. I still remember on that day the sky was so blue and the wind blow through the beautiful reed catkins. When Grandpa Bruce saw us, his hospitality showed us around the ranch, including the fishing pond. In his eyes, I saw loving and kindness. He was a man with patience who explained in details towards your questions. It was my first time paying fully attention on our conversation. He told me that he was a pastor. He shone like a brilliant light. At that moment, I thought the brilliant light comes from a loving, experienced elder. Eventually, I realized the brilliant lights came from God. After that, we chatted couple more times. He told me stories about God and fish pond and some bible’s contents which I didn’t fully grasp. Later, we made the sign together to put right next to the road. We all felt happy and blessed on that day. I think Grandpa Bruce in heaven would smile when he thinks of that day. He was the chosen one by God and he chose the Lord too. In his limited life, he showed the purified spirit. He was a blessed one that he got to stay with the Lord. May Grandpa Bruce rest in peace. From Regan
I still remember the first time that I learnt how to cook fish. That’s the big fish caught by Grandpa Bruce. He gave us the fish as a gift, just like God gave his precious son to us. He didn’t ask for anything back. We are moved because of His grace. Just like what I wrote before; God will give Grandpa Bruce a pond to go fishing slowly. When we see Grandpa Bruce next time, he would still give us the fish. By Clark
